Jill Zarin: Who's Putting Baby In a Corner?
NYC 'Wife offers casting ideas for Dirty Dancing reboot.
Almost 24 years later, Dirty Dancing is taking another twirl around the dance floor, and at least one Real Housewife couldn't be happier. "Did I just hear they are remaking Dirty Dancing? Who will they pick? That was my FAVORITE movie in 1987!" Jill Zarin tweeted after hearing news of the 21st century update on the 80s classic.
"Who do you think the Dirty Dancing remake should star?" the Real Housewives of New York City star pondered. Jill's thoughts? "What do u think of Benjamin Bratt in Patrick swayze role? An unknown should star as baby."
Kenny Ortega, the original choreographer for the film, will direct the remake and discussed casting in a statement released by the movie studio Lionsgate. "Patrick Swayze set the bar for men dancing in the movies as Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire did before him. I believe everywhere you look there is evidence that the talent is out there and I can't wait to begin the process of discovering the next breakout triple-threats."
Sorry, Jill, no word yet on when Dirty Dancing 2.0 hits theaters, but expect the flick to "incorporate classic songs from the 1960s, hits from the original film and brand new compositions," reports CNN.
