Jill Zarin's New Gig? Look in the Produce Aisle
The NYC Housewife lends a hand at Key Foods.
For some stars "hard work" means giving your personal assistant the day off and lugging home your purchases from Bergdorfs all on your own. But for The Real Housewives of New York City's Jill Zarin, this week it means bagging groceries.
During a visit to the Nate Berkus Show, Jill surprised a single mom in her hometown of Woodmere, Long Island with a much needed day off. Cely Corona, a widow raising two children on her own, works at the Key Foods in Woodmere, where Jill got her first job at 14. Cely had asked for the day off to celebrate her 41st birthday but got something even better courtesy of Jill and Nate — a covered shift and a day in Manhattan!
As Jill strapped on a Key Foods apron and went to work behind the cash register, Cely was whisked away to the big city for a day of pampering. Meanwhile, despite complaining about her aching feet and getting lost in the store numerous times, Jill declared the experience a success, later telling Newsday, "I had one of the best days of my life."
Jill's return to the register comes on heels of her intern day at Gawker last month. Jill stepped into the role of intern and columnist, where she endured bits of low-level grunt work but also doled out advice to curious readers.
