Margaret Josephs Reacts to Joe Gorga's Comments About Her Marriage

There was a lot to unpack from that dramatic first dinner during The Real Housewives of New Jersey couples' trip to the Shore in Season 11. However, one of the things that seemed to shock everyone the most was when it briefly got a little heated between Margaret Josephs and her husband, Joe Benigno.

That was still a major topic of conversation during dinner the next night of the Jersey Shore trip. Joe Gorga was especially taken aback by what transpired between Margaret and Joe Benigno. "Last night, I don't know if I would let Melissa [Gorga] treat me the way Marge treats you sometimes," he told Joe Benigno. "She's rough on you."

But Joe Benigno came to his wife's defense. "She is, but you know what? In the end, Marge and I might argue, but really, in like 10 minutes, it's gone," he told his fellow RHONJ husband, to which Joe Gorga joked, "You wear the G-string, she wears the pants."

When Margaret saw what Joe Gorga said to her husband in the April 7 episode of RHONJ, she was surprised to hear his assessment of their relationship. "Yeah, I was shocked, because people have fights all the time. I hold everybody accountable, even my husband. I say what I feel in the moment, then I move on from it," Margaret reflected on her moment with Joe Benigno at the Jersey Shore during her April 7 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (clip above). "What was my husband going to do? I was having a fit. It takes a strong man to be with a strong [woman]. And that's what it is. I mean, cut me a break. What was he gonna do?"

Margaret previously explained what ignited her anger that night during The Real Housewives of New Jersey After Show. "It's a bad game of telephone. My husband should not be drinking so much and should not be talking about it, and that would only hurt Jackie [Goldschneider]. So I wasn't upset for me; I was so upset to the fact that I knew Jackie was already vulnerable and in a bad state, so I was like, that's it. I said to Joe, 'Do you see what f--king happens here? You hurt somebody,'" she shared. "I was pissed and hurt and upset, because I could not watch this girl crumble another second, I just couldn't. And, you know, my husband can handle me, obviously."

In fact, Margaret assured viewers during the WWHL After Show (clip below) that she and Joe Benigno quickly moved on from that little couples' spat. "You know what, it was fine. Joe knows me. I kissed him that night. You know, when you're a married couple, and he knows I'm a strong woman, it's not a big deal. People argue," she said. "I think it shows my personality. I hold everybody accountable when I'm pissed off, and then I get over it. To us, it wasn't a big deal. Everyone's like, 'Oh, you spoke to your husband that way!' I think I'm my real self 24/7. I don't put on anything."
