In case you missed it, during an appearance on Jeff Lewis Live in June 2024, Melissa Gorga revealed that Joe's estranged cousin and her husband had just bought a property on their street.

Later, during a surprise appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kathy threw shade at The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member, noting that Melissa's comments were "very convenient."

While popping up on an episode of Melissa's podcast, On Display, Joe revealed that his last interaction with Rich actually left a sour taste in his mouth.

"I'll tell a story — I ran into Richie, we were at a plumbing supply place, and I was up on the dock, and he was down on the bottom. I didn't realize that he was down there. I was loading my plumbing material, and I tripped. I trip over the forklift, so the guy goes, 'Oh, are you alright?'" Joe shared on the podcast. "I look up, and it's Richie. Richie Wakile."

Joe said that he wanted to be polite to his cousin-in-law because he had just found out that they were going to be neighbors.

"And this is the time that they bought the property and were gonna move to the neighborhood, so I was being nice. I go, 'Hey, what's up Richie? What's up Wakile?' That's what I call him, and I was gonna be extremely nice, and just say, 'What's up?' and 'Welcome to the neighborhood,'" he recounted. "And you know what he said to me... He goes, 'Hey, that's Mr. Wakile to you.' And he gets in his car and he tears off. Like, really rude and nasty."

Melissa Gorga reacts to Kathy Wakile's "petty" comments

In the same podcast episode, Melissa shared how she felt when she heard what Kathy had to say about her on WWHL

"I felt like she had a little negative flair when asked about us, or she mentioned something like, 'Well, there's acres, and these houses are on acres, so we probably won't see them anyway,'" Melissa said, admitting, "I was a little taken [a]back by that..."

Melissa was referring to the comment Kathy made on WWHL about how she wouldn't probably be running into the Gorgas on their new street. "Not to be boastful, but each property is at least an acre to two acres," she explained on the show. "You know, so you really don't see each other."

As for the comments Melissa made on Jeff Lewis Live, she said that she only said them to be "very nice" and to try to help the cousins move "forward in some which way."

She wasn't trying to tell Kathy that she wanted her and Rich "back in our lives."

"Well, it would be nice if we live on the same street and there are two cousins living on the same street and they bumped into each other, it would be really nice to have them talk and work it out and talk it out," she clarified. "And [now] I'm like, 'Huh, do I regret saying that after she had that little weird attitude...' Like, it was weird."

"These are real cousins, and that's me extending an olive branch, where it's like, 'Alright, if we see ya...' But, you know what? Your loss. Stay on your side of the street. All good," Melissa continued on her podcast. "I tried to say something nice and just whatever. I don't think I liked the attitude... I just thought it was petty."
