The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agent shed new light on the drama he's faced this season with his castmate.
On Season 15 of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, Josh Flagg and Josh Altman have faced their fair share of drama, including some tension around a listing that ended with ... something of a resolution.
As the season has continued, it seems the real estate agents got to a better place, with Josh Altman even offering to give up $350,000 in commission to help Josh Flagg buy a house.
However, as Josh Flagg recently revealed to The Daily Dish, the two have not gotten back to their formerly strong friendship.
"I mean, we're not like fighting anymore, but we're not exactly buddy-buddy," he explained in the July 2024 interview. "We're civil and one of us will have to make the first move and re-establish our friendship."
Josh Altman Weighs in on His Friendship with Josh Flagg
In a June interview with The Daily Dish, Josh Altman admitted he and The Deal: Secrets for Mastering the Art of Negotiation author are "not in the place that we used to be."
"When you mix business and friendship, it’s gonna tend to happen more often than not," he shared. "Especially the two of us, because we’re dealing with the same properties a lot... we’ll go up against each other a lot. So I think that probably magnifies it."
Inside Josh Flagg and Josh Altman's Friendship Drama on MDLLA Season 15
The drama between the two realtors all began in Episode 1 of Season 15 of MDLLA when Josh Flagg found out the It's Your Move author was the listing agent on a $15,888,888 house — after they originally met with the owner about it together.
"I'm not supporting someone who f-cking hijacked the listing that we went on together," Josh Flagg said during an interview confessional on the episode. "F-ck that."
He added: "Usually when you go on an appointment with somebody as a co-listing agent, you stick to it. There are 100 times that I've gone on listing appointments with Josh, and we've teamed up together. ... I actually value the relationship and conduct myself in the way that I would want him to and I see that he's not playing by the same rules. That's when it bothers me, and it hurts my feelings."
Later in the episode, Josh Altman shared his take on the situation.
"I'm having some issues with Flagg," he told Tracy Tutor. "We went on a listing appointment together because that was when we were super tight. I kept in touch with that lady, and she called me up. She's like, 'Hey, now's the time. I want to co-list with you.' And I asked her straight up, I was like, 'What about Flagg?'... She said straight up, 'I just want you.'"
After Josh Flagg sent a lengthy text message to Josh Altman, which the dad of two didn't take too well, Josh Flagg ultimately issued an apology as the pair met up to try and hash out their differences.
"I apologize if my text message offended you. It wasn't me saying, 'f-ck you I don't want to be your friend,'" Josh Flagg explained. "It was just me saying, 'I'm a little uncomfortable and I'm sad.' And it would be nice if you could just step out for a second and realize, 'Hey, I can see how that could hurt his feelings.'"
Though the pair didn't immediately reconcile, they admitted they still love each other.
"So, I made a mistake, alright? On a listing that's turned into a nightmare. I am the realest friend you've ever had, because I don't need to be friends," Josh Altman shared. "I'm there for you because you're my family and I love you as a friend, not because I need anything from you. ... I'm there for you because we actually built that friendship over fifteen f-cking years."
In an interview confessional, Josh Flagg noted that he thinks him and his castmate will get through it. "While he can be a piece of sh-t sometimes, we have a great friendship," he said. "I love him like a brother, and no one is perfect."
