The Real Housewife addresses accusations of hypocrisy.

Looks like everyone's not feeling enlightened by Atlanta Housewife Kandi Burruss' new gospel song, "Prayed Up," featuring pastor and gospel singer Marvin Sapp. According to Christianpost.com, a Twitter backlash is a-brewing.

In case you missed it, Kandi recorded the song for cameras this season:

As Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers are well-aware, besides being a Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter, Kandi also has a line of bedroom toys, and we’re not talking about teddy bears. She's also the host of an online show called "Kandi Koated Nights" where the talks can get a little, um, kolorful.

The Real Housewife addresses accusations of hypocrisy.

But the 36-year-old singer addresses all of that in her song.

"I stay prayed up, That gets me by / That's how I made it through my darkest times / Yeah I'm a sinner and that's no lie," Kandi sings in the song. "Thank God my prayers are heard cuz he knows I try / Yeah I stay prayed up, yes I stay prayed up / The only way I made it through my pain is through God's favor."

The former Xscape singer answered her critics who questioned whether it was hypocritical of her to release a gospel song.

"I knew when I decided to do it that I would be criticized. That's to be expected," she wrote via Instagram. "I am honest about who I am. My great grandfather and my grandfather were Bishops in The Church of God Holiness. I believe in God but I have always struggled with the rules of the church, just like a lot of people."

At least she has one vocal fan, ex-American Idol singer Fantasia Barrino (who also faced criticism for being a single mom) who tweeted that "Prayed Up" is a “great song,” and a “masterpiece!”
