On Thursday, September 7, The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member celebrated 27 years of marriage with Ray Huger, a software executive she met at a political event in Washington, D.C. Karen commemorated the milestone by sharing a “Then & Now” Instagram post that included a photo of her and Ray on their wedding day and another that was taken during their 2021 vow renewal

“Then & Now! Happy 27th anniversary,” she wrote to her husband. “Thank you for the laughter, joy, love and all of the wonderful memories. I said yes then and I say yes now! I love you baby.”

The post garnered tens of thousands of likes and hundreds of congratulatory comments from fans and fellow Bravolebrities, including RHOP’s Candiace Dillard Bassett and Dr. Wendy Osefo. The happy milestone came nearly a month after the former celebrated her fifth anniversary with Chris Bassett, and less than three weeks after the latter celebrated her 12th wedding anniversary with Eddie Osefo.

Karen Huger’s Vow Renewal Ceremony

The couple’s vow renewal ceremony took place at a stunning Virginia wedding venue and was featured on RHOP Season 6. Karen’s castmates attended the lavish celebration, which included a three-tier cake, an upscale dinner, specialty cocktails, and beautiful decor.

Months after the event, Karen spoke to Bravo Insider about her relationship and whether she was concerned about the “vow renewal curse," a superstitious belief that such ceremonies will cause a marriage to dissolve.

“We’re on a different level now. We are at a totally different level after the vow renewal,” she said in 2022. “People were asking me, ‘Oh, Karen, are you worried about the curse of [the] vow renewal?’ Oh my god! They didn’t tell [me] — I mean, what if it works out and you make it through the curse? And we made it through the curse. We’re still married. Our life, Lord Jesus, when does it stop? That’s what I’m wondering. And it’s funny. And it keeps us so closely bound to one another. He is my best friend. He’s my rock. And he is my inspiration too.”

While her marriage is clearly going strong, the mother of two is also thriving in her work life. Earlier this summer, Karen was honored at the 2023 Minerva Entrepreneurship Awards hosted by the Potomac Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. Karen was recognized for her entrepreneurial spirit and the success of La’ Dame, a lifestyle brand that specializes in aromas.

“Truly, honored to be one of the 2023 Honorees at the Minerva Entrepreneurship Awards,” she wrote in a September 4 Instagram. “‘La’ Dame By Karen Huger’ is celebrating its fifth year in business. As a successful black, female small business owner, I cannot think of a more perfect way to mark this milestone than to be recognized for the hard work and dedication to my company. I cannot wait to share with you the next phase of La’ Dame.”
