Kate Chastain Reveals Her Favorite Below Deck Chef of All Time
"He's honestly one of the most intelligent humans I've ever met," the Below Deck alum said.
Kate Chastain has worked with several chefs during her time as chief stew on Below Deck and witnessed even more at work on the galley in Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Sailing Yacht. However, there's one that definitely stands out to Kate.
During Kate's appearance on the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home After Show on August 3, she and her fellow guest, Captain Sandy Yawn, were asked to name their favorite chef that they have worked with on Below Deck (clip above). Neither Captain Sandy nor Kate hesitated to highlight the very first chef in both franchises, Ben Robinson.
Kate made sure to note that she wasn't just saying this because of her longtime friendship with Ben. "He's honestly one of the most intelligent humans I've ever met," Kate explained. "He's charming, and his food is just good. He's just smart and good at everything."
Captain Sandy agreed, "His food is the best."
Ben, who appeared in Season 1 through 4 of Below Deck, was one of five chefs Kate worked with on the series, which also included Leon Walker (Season 3), Matt Burns (Season 5), Adrian Martin (Season 6), and Kevin Dobson (Season 7).
In fact, Ben has the distinction of also being Kate's favorite Below Deck crew member of all time, she revealed during the WWHL After Show in July 2019. And her least favorite? Well, that title also goes to a chef. "I would say my least favorite was Chef Leon," Kate said during that previous WWHL After Show appearance. "Just because he had a combative attitude at all times."
