Kathryn C. Dennis: How Motherhood Changed Me
The 'Southern Charm' star calls her life as a young mom "beautiful." Plus: see new pics of her girl!
The dramatic romance between Southern Charm's Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel took a turn for the serious when Kathryn found out she was pregnant at just 21 years old. Now that their daughter Kensington has turned one, the young mom opens up to People about how parenthood has affected her.
"In the beginning it was difficult to adjust because it was so polarized from my previous lifestyle," she admits. "I feel like, before I found out I was pregnant with Kensie, I was just a free-spirited 21-year-old that was just looking to have fun."
"But now that I've adjusted and I've become more confident in my day-to-day decisions, I've gained my own acceptance with everything going on," she adds, calling her new life "beautiful" even if "it's not going to be perfect [and] you never have time to yourself."
The 23-year-old even admits that she finds it difficult to be away from her little girl. "Literally, if I'm not with her, I just go through pictures on my phone," she says. "I never got it before I was pregnant, whenever everyone would show me pictures of their children. After having a baby I totally get it now."
Kathryn has also seen a change in Thomas when it comes to their daughter. "He has just learned a lot of life lessons with Kensie, and I feel that that has really created a special bond with the two of them," she reveals. "He is very proud of himself and I'm proud of him too."
