Kelly Clarkson Knows Absolutely Nothing About Demi Lovato's Feud with Taylor Swift
The singer took the high road on #WWHL.
If you ask Kelly Clarkson about all the pop star bad blood that's been spilled lately, she'll admit she has no idea what you're talking about. When the singer appeared on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday, she was asked to share what she thinks about Demi Lovato's recent comments to Glamour. To recap, Demi threw shade at Taylor Swift and her squad of supermodel pals, as well as the "Bad Blood" video, which is presumably about Taylor's feud with Katy Perry. Kelly's response to all the drama was nothing short of amazing.
“Whoa, I am officially old. What? I feel like we just stepped into Mean Girls, the movie. Like it's not real," she said when both Andy and fellow guest Melissa Etheridge had to explain to controversy to her live on the air. "Oh my god. I have to say, I don’t think of that ever. I have way too much going in my life to worry about supermodels and angry pop stars. Do people care?”
Yes, they do. In fact, Demi's comments received so much attention that shortly after they went public she announced she was stepping away from the spotlight in 2017.
If it makes pop culture fanatics feel any better about Kelly's lack of knowledge, she admitted that on a whole she doesn't keep up with what the kids are up to these days. When Andy Cohen asked, "Rate these women from most to least played on your iTunes: Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia Barrino?" she was equally out of the loop.
"I’m going to say...I so want to plead the fifth. I love all of those girls but I actually listen to old school R&B, alternative, and rock so I don’t actually listen to any of them but not because they’re not good. Just because I don’t listen to any of them," she said. "I listen to old school! Seriously, my iPhone is all old school stuff. I don’t listen to me either."
Well, there you have it. Below, check out another highlight from Kelly's WWHL appearance.
