Following her split from ex-boyfriend Brian Carter earlier this year, Kristen Doute is taking a different approach to dating. The Vanderpump Rules cast member recently opened up about her new philosophy when it comes to relationships and what she’s learned from her recent breakup.
Kristen and Carter were open about their problems on Season 7 of Vanderpump Rules, and the two ultimately decided to split up. She announced their breakup during the Season 7 reunion, although the two continued to live together in their shared home until Kristen found a new place back in April.
Having recently confirmed that she’s still single, Kristen — who also previously dated Tom Sandoval — is now revealing the biggest lesson she’s learned from her past relationships. “The lesson I've learned through all these guys is I didn't have enough self-love. That's the journey I'm on right now,” she recently told E! News, also adding, “It’s a really cool journey to be on.”
She also revealed that experiencing these breakups has taught her to value herself more, particularly in relationships. “I thought highly of myself but did I think enough of myself and if I did, I probably wouldn't have stayed in all these relationships,” she said.
Kristen, who will delve further into her own dating history in her upcoming book He’s Making You Crazy, also believes in making your own mistakes — even when friends are trying to tell you otherwise.
"These are lessons you have to go through yourself and then you have killer stories to share," she said.
While Kristen may have plenty of those stories, it’s clear she’s learned from each and every one of them!
