Get ready to cook like Kristen Kish. The Top Chef alum will release her first cookbook, Kristen Kish Cooking: Recipes and Techniques, this fall. The Season 10 winner, who also appeared on Top Chef Duels, is even giving fans a sneak peek at the cover and revealed what inspired the title of the book.
"I love the old cookbooks with titles that are the most simple... so here we are introducing KRISTEN KISH COOKING," she wrote on Instagram, currently available for pre-order. "Can't wait for you to dive into the stories, beautiful photos, and so many recipes."
Her book even includes a fishy little secret under the book jacket. She explained, "Always intrigued by taking the jacket off of books to reveal what's underneath... here's what you'll find when you get mine naked."
According to Boston magazine, Kristen is working with Meredith Erickson, who also co-wrote the James Beard Award nominated The Art of Living According to Joe Beef, the Le Pigeon: Cooking at the Dirty Bird as well as Olympia Provisions: Cured Meats and Tales from an American Charcuterie.
She explained to Boston magazine what inspired the book, which hits retailers on October 10. “It’s everything from dishes from my childhood and the dishes I grew up on, revisited; to things I cooked on Top Chef, to things that were on my tasting menu at Menton, things that I’ve cooked on my travels, my influences, to how I cook at home,” she said. “The focus is technique-based. It’s about empowering [the reader] to trust their instincts when they’re cooking.”
