Kyle and Kim Richards Pay Tribute to Their Late Mom, Who Was "Always Taking People Under Her Wing"
The #RHOBH sisters remember their mama 15 years after her passing.
Kyle Richards and her sister, Kim Richards, remembered their late mom Kathleen on Thursday on the 15th anniversary of her death. The Richards matriarch passed away after a battle with breast cancer, and Kyle shared on Instagram that "we love & miss her everyday."
Kim wrote a lengthier tribute Kathleen, recalling fond memories of her mama. "My mom was the most amazing person.. she loved her girls and grandchildren more than anything in the world. She was strong ...& yet most loving & caring woman," The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills sister wrote. "Always taking people under her wing. There is not a day that I don't think of my mom and wish she was still here. But I do know she is watching over all of us ... and gives me peace knowing she can see all the good that is happening in our lives our new bab[ies]!!"
In fact Kathleen's influence runs deep. She serves as the inspiration for the 1970's-set American Woman, the TV Land show that Kyle is executive producing. Alicia Silverstone is set to play a fictionalized version of Kyle's mom. "We wanted to really feel like you were in the '70s and not having a costume party. The '70s was my favorite time: the music, the clothing. It just feels like kind of a crazy, reckless time," Kyle recently told The Daily Dish. "I think about growing up as a kid and my mom would be smoking a cigarette with all the windows up [in the car] and I was flopping around in the backseat with no seat belt on — I mean that would never happen today. At least we hope that would never happen today."
You can check out Kyle's life in the present every Tuesday at 9/8c on RHOBH. Check out a preview for what's to come, below.
