Lala Kent Marks One Year Sober as Randall Emmett Declares Her "an Inspiration to Everybody"
The Vanderpump Rules SURver has decided her date of being sober is her new birthday.

Lala Kent technically celebrates her birthday in September, but October 22 now holds a special meaning for her. The Vanderpump Rules SURver officially got sober on that date — and this year she marks one year since she decided to do just that.
"Today, I am 1 year sober. This is the biggest accomplishment I’ve ever had in my life and the one I am most proud of. The moments I have had in the past year have been a blessing that I have been present for. I didn’t have that before. Today, I will celebrate my 1 year birthday because it’s exciting. It is also humbling," she reflected on Instagram. "Because today, and every day after that, I will fight for it. But I wont give it up for anything."
Lala was definitely feeling the love and support from fiancé Randall Emmett, who celebrated her, well, birthday on his Instagram Stories, telling his future bride, "Happy 1 year birthday, Lala Kent. I am so proud of you: one year sober. The world is a better place and you are an inspiration to everybody. And I am seriously so proud of you and your commitment. I love you and you are the most amazing woman in the world."
Lala previously confirmed that she decided to reexamine her drinking and made the decision to become sober last October 22, later calling "it the best day of my whole life" on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen earlier this year. She also confirmed in a separate interview she has attended AA meetings.
Previously, Lala explained how important Randall's support has been to her during her recovery in an interview with Cosmopolitan in December 2018. "My fiancé always says I have this sixth sense where I know when things have gotten to a point where they need to change, so I can’t really pinpoint one incident," she said at the time. "When I really came to the conclusion that I am in that zone of having a problem, I just said enough’s enough. I picked up the phone, I called this sponsor that had been recommended to me. It’s the best decision of my whole life."
