Lala Kent Says This Is the Only Thing That’ll Make Her Feel Better About Postponed Wedding
The Vanderpump Rules cast member had to reschedule her upcoming wedding due to the coronavirus.
April 18, 2020 won't go as Lala Kent and Randall Emmett had originally planned. The upcoming day is the date the Vanderpump Rules couple had chosen as their wedding day. However, the two announced they had to postpone their wedding due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
“We have decided to move the date of our wedding to July given the unfortunate circumstances of what is going on,” they said in a statement to PEOPLE. “We are obviously saddened by this but for the ultimate safety of our families and guests, we have made the decision to wait and see how everything progresses. Safety will always be our number one priority.”
And although the couple recognizes the need to move their date, it doesn't mean that it doesn't sting a bit now that this would have been Lala's wedding week. She touched on her emotions about postponing the wedding, as well as all of the pre-wedding rites of passage she's missing out on, in an Instagram post on April 15.
"Today would be the day I’d be heading to our wedding location to start prepping and getting settled in with my mama and mama-in-law to-be. I know people have been affected by this in much bigger ways. I do feel sad today, though. I haven’t experienced anything that I should have. Bachelorette party, bridal shower. It’s just all very weird. I know I’ll get to, but my heart was set on April 18th," Lala wrote.
Upon reflection, there is one thing that will make Lala cheer up when April 18th rolls around: "I hope it rains that day. Then I’ll be saying 'thank god we didn’t get married today'. That would make me feel better," she joked.
