Lauren Wirkus is saying "so long" to New York City — or maybe it's more like a "see you later." The Summer House alum recently announced that she will no longer be living full-time in the Big Apple, but will now be splitting her time between New York City and San Diego, California.

How to Watch

Lauren shared the news on Instagram on Monday, February 25 in a post that showed her apartment all packed up and ready for her move cross-country. "I’m going going, back to back, to Cali Cali," Lauren announced. "After 8+ years of living in NYC I can officially say now I’m freakin’ BI-COASTAL and basically going to live the dream splitting my time between both San Diego and NYC (with an emphasis on Southern California until it warms up on the east coast)."

I’m going going, back to back, to Cali Cali ☀️ after 8+ years of living in NYC I can officially say now I’m freakin’ BI-COASTAL and basically going to live the dream splitting my time between both San Diego and NYC (with an emphasis on Southern California until it warms up on the east coast) 🤗 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I moved to the city with @ashleynmcatee at 22 years old I never imagined I would call it my sole home for over 8 years. It has been a journey like no other from first jobs to a career, shared apartments with fake walls to my own apartment for 4+ years, friends I met the first nights out at the club who have turned into life-long friends, experiencing cold and snowy winters to the hottest most fun summers in the Hamptons. I will cherish the feeling of full time living in NYC and the energy it gives you but the time has come to change up my pace and scenery and more importantly reunite with @ashleynmcatee and get @wirkustwins on the same coast because let’s be real I’m sure you all could have guessed I wouldn’t be able to live too far away once our baby comes in May!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Shoutout to @flatrate_moving for helping me with my move and making it stress free- moving is the absolute WORST- especially when it’s long distance and I couldn’t have done it without them 📦 #bicoastal #baby #wirkustwins

Originally hailing from Southern California, Lauren moved to New York City about eight years ago with her twin sister, Ashley McAtee Wirkus. Lauren reflected on the highs and lows of her life on the East Coast in that time, including, of course, her time hanging out in the Hamptons with the Summer House crew. "When I moved to the city with @ashleynmcatee at 22 years old I never imagined I would call it my sole home for over 8 years," she shared on Instagram. "It has been a journey like no other from first jobs to a career, shared apartments with fake walls to my own apartment for 4+ years, friends I met the first nights out at the club who have turned into life-long friends, experiencing cold and snowy winters to the hottest most fun summers in the Hamptons."

Lauren has a very good reason for heading back to the West Coast. Her sister Ashley, who moved back to San Diego after getting married a couple of years ago, is expecting her first child with husband Brad McAtee. The couple's baby boy is due to arrive in May. "I will cherish the feeling of full time living in NYC and the energy it gives you but the time has come to change up my pace and scenery and more importantly reunite with @ashleynmcatee and get @wirkustwins on the same coast because let’s be real I’m sure you all could have guessed I wouldn’t be able to live too far away once our baby comes in May!!!" Lauren gushed on Instagram.
