Lindsay Lohan Explains Her Bizarre Accent: "Je Ne Sais Pas"
The Mean Girls actress broke down why she sounds a little different these days.
If you somehow missed the news that Lindsay Lohan has adopted a bizarre, new accent, we're here to inform you that she has — and there's video evidence.
According to E! News, Lindsay revealed her assummingly new speaking voice Tuesday while speaking to Athens reporters (she did just open a nightclub in Greece, after all). Just as the internet was collectively asking "why?" the Mean Girls actress, who now lives in London, offered an explanation (we guess). "It's a mixture of most of the languages I can understand or am trying to learn," she explained to The Daily Mail. "I've been learning different languages since I was a child. I'm fluent in English and French can understand Russian and am learning Turkish, Italian and Arabic."
She went on to show off her flair for foreign languages by sharing "Je ne sais pas" (French for "I do not know") when pressed why she decided to start sounding the way she does.
Currently Lindsay is looking for a term to describe the accent. And she isn't afraid to crowd source for ideas. "We should let the people decide," she said.
Given that almost everything Lindsay does warrants a headline or two, she noted that she really isn't surprised by the attention her latest demonstration has received. "Nothing really shocks me these days," she said. "I moved to London four years ago and the taxes seem to be getting higher."
