The growing list of celebrities speaking out against fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana has just added a Real Housewife to it. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and gay rights activist Lisa Vanderpump is weighing in on the controversy.
Dolce & Gabbana first made headlines over the weekend when they spoke out against some same-sex partners choosing adoption and IVF to have children. "We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one," the fashion designers told Italy's Panorama magazine. "You are born to a mother and a father—or at least that's how it should be," Dolce added. "I call children of chemistry, synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog."
Lisa is not a fan of what the pair had to say. "Disappointing that D&G who design with such grace, can be so censorious, the only labels they should use are the ones on their clothes. #lgbt," she tweeted afer the pair's comments went viral.
Andy also reacting to the designers' interview—by auctioning off his own D&G suit for charity.
Elton John was one of the first celebrities to make headlines afther the pair's comments picked up steam. In the wake of the controversy, Ricky Martin, Glee creator Ryan Murphy, Courtney Love and tennis player Martina Navratilova have all spoken out against the pair.
The designers have since responded to the backlash with Dolce noting he was sharing his opinion "without judging other people's choices."
