Lisa Barlow Reunites with Her Son Jack Amid His Mission: "Love Seeing His Maturity"
The RHOSLC mom celebrated the reunion with a sweet family photoshoot: "A necessary trip and amazing timing."
Jack Barlow is back in the States. And his mom couldn’t be any happier.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City son returned to Utah this week for a quick but heartwarming family reunion. Lisa Barlow reflected on her son’s homecoming via Instagram on Thursday (May 16), roughly 10 months after Jack embarked on a two-year Mormon mission in Colombia.
“A necessary trip and amazing timing,” she captioned a family photoshoot, which showed her and Jack posing alongside her husband, John Barlow; her youngest son, Henry; and their dog, Kendle. “Love seeing my Jack so we could make sure the next 14 months in Colombia he would be completely well. I love seeing his maturity, hearing him speak Spanish and his love of service and the people of Colombia.”
She continued: “Jack and Henry are besties- I love seeing them back together even though it’s short lived and we love our baby Kendle.”
Lisa then concluded the message with a stern warning for her haters: “If anyone comes for MY kids I promise you’ll regret it.”

Lisa Barlow reveals Jack was hospitalized during his mission trip
The update came about five months after Lisa revealed Jack had been hospitalized during his mission. The Vida Tequila founder shared the concerning news via X (f.k.a. Twitter), saying it was so difficult being away from her oldest son while he was receiving treatment.
“I miss Jack every day — he has been in the hospital for 3 days and it’s killing me not being there,” she wrote. “He will be [OK]… They are figuring it out.”
Lisa Barlow reflects on her son's decision to forgo college
Lisa learned about Jack’s mission plans ahead of RHOSLC Season 4, after they "got into it" about his future. The New York native said she was caught off guard by her son’s decision, as she assumed he would go to college following high school graduation.
“[Jack] sits down next to me and just starts bawling,” Lisa said in the Season 4 premiere. “And I’m like, ‘What’s going on, Jack?!’ He’s like, ‘Mom, it’s gonna be OK because I decided to go on a mission.’”
Although she was surprised by the news, Lisa insisted she was proud of her son for following his heart.
“You know, this mission for Jack is so personal,” she said in Season 4, Episode 12. “And he’s going for the right reasons. He’s going because he felt strongly that this is the right decision for him. He had everything at his fingertips. He could be doing anything else in the whole entire world, but he chose to go out there and connect with people, share a message of love and kindness, and teach people about God. As soon as he wakes up, until the time he goes to bed, he is going to be serving others, and, as a mom, I couldn’t be more proud of him.”
