We’re just about a week out from Halloween: Do you know what you’re doing to celebrate? The cast of Vanderpump Rules does… sorta. The Daily Dish caught up with the team at last week's opening night of Sherlock Holmes in Hollywood, where they dished about their costume plans — which are still very much a work in progress.
The crew has a history of planning out a group costume; in 2012, for instance, everyone at SUR went as characters from The Avengers. And this year, there was a similar plan underway: Everyone was going to coordinate their costumes and go as favorite Disney characters. But now it appears folks are probably going their separate ways for the big night after all — thanks mainly to work commitments — so that plan appears to be falling apart, save for a few participating cast members.
Scheana Shay says she’s clear on her holiday look: a couple’s costume with her man. “I am going to be Princess Jasmine,” she said. “[Mike] Shay is going to be Jafar.” She said she’d love to have her makeup done professionally to complete the effect, but may have to just figure that part out on her own due to time constraints.
Peter Madrigal said he was feeling the pressure from the group to go as Beauty in the Beast’s Gaston this year. As for Tom Schwartz? He’s got another character in mind from the famous movie! “I didn’t have much of a say in the matter, but I obliged. Want spoilers? I am going to be the beast!” he said. “I feel pretty good about that.”
It’s a bit of a departure from the kind of costume he typically picks. “Usually, I just get a mustache and then build around the mustache. This year I decided to mix it up and do something different,” he said. He also characterized Halloween as among his top three favorite holidays… and October overall as his favorite month. (It’s his birthday month after all!)
As for Lisa Vanderpump herself, she’s preparing for a huge night: “Halloween is a big night for us, between SUR and PUMP. Last year, I was [crowned by the city of West Hollywood as] the queen of [that city’s huge] Halloween parade… my favorite costume ever!”
And if she’s she’s still foggy on her husband’s costume for this year, she’s quite clear on how she wants the night to end. “For Ken, I wish he would turn himself into Brad Pitt and we could have mad, passionate sex that night.” Happy Halloween indeed!
