Lisa Vanderpump Reigns at Mardi Gras
The 'RHOBH' star enjoys the perks of being named Monarch—see pics!
It pays to be Mardi Gras royalty.
The Krewe of Orpheus floats made their way through the Big Easy last night, and as Monarch of the group, Lisa certainly seemed to get into the spirt—and enjoy some perks of being considered royalty of the famous parade, from the moment of arrival, to the end of the event.
"What an amazing way to arrive in New Orleans! Such an honor to be Monarch of Orpheus #MardiGras #policeescort," she wrote accompanying a video of a police escorted ride through New Orleans.
"So flattered…Apparently as the Monarch, even fabulous people like @dierksbentley have to bow down! I'm into this! #HappyMardiGras," she captioned a pic of the country superstar curtseying to the Queen.
All jokes aside though, Lisa took her title (and her invitation) very seriously. "Just to be invited, to be included, having heard about Mardi Gras for absolutely years, to be invited as Monarch of Orpheus—also, Orpheus has always stood for all-inclusive, supportive of the LGBT community, which I'm a huge advocate for," she explained to NOLA.com. "Just to be here and feel the love, the vibrancy, see the effort that goes into these days for Mardi Gras, is really something that's second to none."
The RHOBH and Vanderpump Rules star stunned in (what else?!) hot pink Mardi-Gras worthy accessories, and even cheekily paid homage to the parade's history of, um, earning beads.
"Not a boob in sight… So I might have to offer some up! #HappyMardiGras," she jokingly captioned a photo of her pretending like she was about to flash the camera.
