RHOC Alum Lydia McLaughlin's Mom Has Passed Away: Read Her Touching Tribute
Lydia McLaughlin, who appeared on Seasons 8 and 12, was often joined by her late mom, Judy Stirling, during her time on The Real Housewives of Orange County.
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Lydia McLaughlin confirmed that her mom Judy Stirling has passed away. She announced the news in an Instagram post shared to her account on Wednesday, October 9.
"My mom passed away last night," Lydia wrote in the caption alongside a photo of her and her mom, embracing one another while wearing tiaras. Her tribute also touched on their very close bond. "We are heartbroken but we know she's dancing with Jesus. [Throwing] [fairy dust], confetti bombs, and [wearing] crowns like heaven has never seen before. What's in the cat is in the kitten and I promise to continue to make you proud."
Lydia, who appeared on both Season 8 and Season 12 of RHOC, often had her mom by her side on the show, where they would constantly be laughing together and, of course, throwing glitter. Andy Cohen took to the comments of the post, where he left his condolences for Lydia's family.
"Fairy dust in the sky! Thank you for sharing her with us," Andy wrote.
"Lydia, I am so sorry for your loss," Alexis Bellino, who appeared on Season 8 of RHOC with Lydia, wrote. "I know your pain right now. I loved EVERY SINGLE THING about your mom. I'm only a phone call away. Love you sweetie."
"Oh Lydia just heartbroken for you all," Gretchen Rossi, who also appeared on Season 8 of RHOC with Lydia, commented. "Judy was such a light and a gift straight from Heaven. She was so loved by so many. I will be praying for all of you as you navigate this difficult time. She will forever hold a special place in my heart. We love you Judy. Sending love and healing prayers."
"Oh honey — I am so sorry to hear this," Vicki Gunvalson added. "What an incredible bond you and your mother had. Peace be with you and your family."
Lydia McLaughlin Shares Memories of Her Mother
Lydia then took to her Instagram Story, where she re-posted a Reel (originally posted to her account on Mother's Day 2022), featuring many different clips of her and her mom, dancing together, singing songs, taking selfies, twirling in fabulous dresses, and hamming it up for the camera.
"Legend," she wrote under the sweet video compilation.
