During Season 10, Episode 2 of Southern Charm, Madison LeCroy revealed that her husband, Brett Randle, had been battling thyroid cancer.

How to Watch

Watch Southern Charm on Bravo Thursdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

“Unfortunately, Brett was diagnosed with thyroid cancer toward the end of last year, around our one year wedding anniversary. I thought, like, how? Like, I’m finally happy,” she said as tears formed in her eyes during a confessional. “I mean, it’s just scary.”

Madison and her husband — who wed in November 2022 — talked about his health more during the episode.

“How are you feeling, Brett? How’s your swallowing?” Madison asked while making breakfast with her son, Hudson. Brett answered that while he was feeling pretty good, he needed to go see a specialist for his throat issue.

“Yeah, it’s like two stages. I don’t know, so I have to go see an ENT and then do some sort of therapy. I don’t know, I’ll see what they say," he explained. He went on to describe the feeling he was having as “sharp," like a marble stuck in his throat.

But when he said he'd get used to it, Madison would hear no such thing. “We’ll get you fixed,” she said.

As Madison explained, Brett still has obstacles to overcome in his recovery journey.

“I’m thankful that Bret was able to go in," she continued in her confessional. "They removed a three centimeter nodule, so the cancer is gone but now he’s having complications. So I feel like we can’t catch a f-cking break.”

How Madison LeCroy Told Son Hudson About Brett Randle's Illness

Madison also discussed what it was like to tell her son, Hudson, that his stepdad was sick.

“When I told Hudson that Brett was sick, I didn’t go into detail about what cancer can do to someone," she said. "And I try not to let Hudson see me emotional, because I have to be strong for my family."

Still, it's not easy.

“Some days I just want to like scream. It can be anything that triggers me, whether that be someone saying, ‘When are you having a child?’ I mean, we were just starting to plan, but that’s on pause for now," she concluded.

Madison LeCroy Opens Up About Her "Vulnerable" Season of Southern Charm

While chatting with The Daily Dish in a recent interview, Madison opened up about the hardships she faced this season.

"This season, I’m very vulnerable. I’ve had a lot of things happen that deal with my family and health and things like that, which I open up about," she said. "So I think that this year is probably going to be my most raw, emotional season yet."
