Last season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Margaret Josephs and Danielle Staub became fast friends. In fact, they became so close that Margaret was even a Matron of Honor, along with Teresa Giudice, in Danielle's May 2018 wedding to Marty Caffrey. (By July, Danielle and Marty were having marital trouble and Marty filed for divorce in August.) In an interview with The Daily Dish podcast, Margaret shared that it wasn't exactly a cakewalk being Danielle's bridesmaid.
“It’s a tough job and it’s a tough job when you’re doing it for Danielle Staub,” Margaret admitted. "She is demanding. It was tough. She was definitely bridezilla-central, I'm not gonna lie."
But what exactly about the wedding was so taxing for the bridesmaids? Margaret explained. "If it was her first wedding and she was 25, I could have understood it, but I was like, girl. You're all bougie and stuff, hire a wedding coordinator and let them do everything. She expected a lot from us to do things. At that age, who wants all that nonsense? But she wanted the big hoopla, the everything, and she got it."
While Margaret noted, "It was a beautiful wedding. She was the most gorgeous bride," she revealed that her relationship with Danielle has since gone south: "Things unraveled in her marriage and things unraveled with us." Suffice to say, their friendship did not survive the wedding.
"I don't think it was the Matron of Honor point as much as I saw a side of her that I didn't love and I tried to discuss it with her, and some people don't want to hear the truth, and I was very honest with her and I think that's a characteristic I have, I'm gonna tell you the way I feel and I can move past from it, but some people just want to hear the nice and the fluff and you blow smoke up their ass and I'm not that girl," she said.
Margaret shared more about Danielle's split from Marty, as well as what's to come in Season 9, in the podcast episode above. Make sure to tune in to RHONJ every Wednesday at 9/8c and check out a preview of this season's drama, below.
