Marisa Talks Controversial Zanuck Sale on 'MDLLA'

The RHOBH friend tells us what she thought of the buyer's plans to level her family's home.

By Kim Moreau

On last night's Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, Josh Altman closed the biggest deal of his career, putting his wealthy clients into a $21 million, one-bedroom Beverly Park abode with serious pedigree. The home belonged to the late Richard Zanuck, a famed Hollywood producer and father-in-law of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills friend Marisa Zanuck.

Parting with the family's home (where Marisa was married) after Richard's death was hard enough. Making it even more difficult: news that the buyers planned to destroy the meticiulous crafted home (handmade bricks were flown in from England, Arnold Schwarzenager designed the gym). More difficult still: Josh didn't let Marisa in on the news until the deal was done.

But Marisa isn't harboring ill will—she tells the Dish that she found the demolition to be a blessing in disguise.

"When I found out that Josh's client wanted to remodel the house I had a horrible feeling in my gut," Marisa shared. "I felt that my mother in law, Lili Zanuck, would be very sad. Instead, to my surprise, she was happy that they were going to tear the house down. She felt that she built the home for her family and her family had grown up and started their own lives. Her time in the home was amazing and her memories with all of us would live on in her mind. She was OK with it."

For Marisa it was the memories of house that made it so hard to part with the Beverly Hill mansion. "The memories we shared there were amazing and priceless. Weddings, tennis, riding bikes with the kids and family dinners on Sunday are just a few that stand out. All things considered though, we knew selling the home was the practical thing to do."

But the real question: did Josh Altman really buy her the earrings he promised while making the sale?

"I am getting tons of questions whether or not Josh really bought me the earrings for the sale of the house!" Marisa admits. "And NO he did not!"

And, according to Marisa, this isn't the first time Altman hasn't followed through. "He's promised me things before in other deals and never followed through! All good though, I still love him!"

We're glad Marisa's not bothered -- but Josh, it wouldn't hurt to send her a pair of earrings, would it?
