Meghan King Confirms Split from Boyfriend Christian Schauf
"I’m just getting started," the RHOC alum shared after the breakup.
Meghan King Edmonds has confirmed her split from her boyfriend of about six months, Christian Schauf.
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum wrote about the breakup on Instagram: "As I close the door on my relationship with Christian I am quite literally opening the door to our new family home. (God/Spirit/The Universe has a way of doing funny things like that.) Our relationship deserves to be honored even as it ends."
Meghan also reflected on the breakup on her blog where she opened up about meeting Christian following her separation from Jim Edmonds, her ex-husband with whom she has three kids. Jim and Megan separated in October 2019 after five years of marriage.
"After a terrible split from my ex-husband I learned how to heal. I then met and dated a wonderful man: Christian. We laughed, went on adventures, made a long-distance relationship a thing of beauty, grew together, and then… well, we grew apart," she wrote. "I think people come into our lives for a reason and Christian was no exception. With him my soul reawakened my dormant adventurous spirit and I remembered what it felt like to love myself and be loved."
She noted in the blog post, "I wish things could’ve been different in many ways but alas, things are the way they are... just as we stood together just a short time ago, we now stand apart... I wish nothing but an abundance of love and happiness in his life and I know he wishes the same for me."
She also teased that she has big things ahead: "So must all good things end? Nah, girl, I’m just getting started."
Ahead of the news of their split, Meghan confirmed that she bought a home by herself recently, which would point to her making some big moves solo.
Meghan and Christian's relationship first made headlines back in May and went Instagram official that same month. Shortly after, the pair was spending a pretty good chunk of time together, even as they lived in different cities.
Meghan later confirmed that she had been diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID-19) in November. E! News also reported on the breakup with a source sharing that her diagnosis may have played a part in her split with Christian. "He couldn't take all the social media and public attention," the source told E! News. "He ended it shortly after her COVID diagnosis and all the attention that went with it."
