Meghan King Edmonds is embracing her newly single status. Following her tumultuous split from ex-husband Jim Edmonds, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum says she’s doing better than ever, although she admits that life as a single mom isn’t always easy.

Meghan and Jim called it quits in October 2019 after five years of marriage. In a recent episode of the podcast Heather Dubrow’s World, the mother of three got candid about co-parenting their kids, daughter Aspen and twin boys Hart and Hayes, after their rocky divorce.

"It’s intense,” Meghan said, later adding, “I’m tired a lot. I think I’m going through what most every single mom can probably relate to in the whole world.”

Though she recently hired help in the form of a live-in nanny, Meghan says it’s difficult to juggle her work projects, like her Intimate Knowledge podcast, with caring for her children. “You’re hustling, you’re trying to work and make a living. You’re trying to focus on kids and when I do have the kids, it’s 100 percent all of the time," she stated. "There’s not somebody else you can say, ‘Hey, I need five minutes. Let me go take a bath.’”

While maintaining the delicate balance between her career and her family can be challenging, Meghan says she’s feeling more in control of her life than ever. "Overall, it’s good. I feel I’m in a great place,” she said.

She went on to explain, “I just bought my nanny a car. I bought myself a car. To open my garage door and look at my two cars that I bought and think about my house and my kids and my nanny, who I’m taking care of, these five people, including myself, that are under my responsibility it feels so empowering."

Meghan, who has been prioritizing self-care in recent weeks with "masterdates" and "self-love jewelry," also dispensed some sage advice for anyone going through a similar situation. “For me, it was so important to not focus on the negatives because that’s such an easy abyss to fall into," she said. "And once you do that, how do you climb out of that? So I wouldn’t allow myself to do that, and I still don’t.”
