Meghan McCain Says “The View Can Be Like the Housewives Sometimes”
The View co-host also reveals her biggest fear about being on the show.
Meghan McCain walked off the set of The View last week after getting into an on-air argument with Ana Navarro, but she later downplayed it as protocol.
"We are told by producers to leave the table if it gets too heated," she told the Bravo Clubhouse on Tuesday night during Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen (see the video above). She said she went to get her makeup retouched behind the scenes and by the time they went back on the air, everything was fine.
"I thought, 'Oh my God, she's walking off the set, it's like the reunions!" Andy Cohen said.
"Look, The View can be like the Housewives sometimes," she smiled as Kelly Dodd sat next to her, representing The Real Housewives of Orange County.
McCain admitted that every day she goes to the set of The View and deals with what she calls a "combative" audience, she has the same fear.
"I go in assuming I'm going to be fired every day anyway. Yes, every single day, so I will return to politics [one day]."
