Antonia Gorga is on the mend after sustaining an athletic injury. The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter, who is an avid cheerleader and gymnast, will have to undergo surgery to fix a torn ACL, as mom Melissa Gorga revealed in a recent Instagram post.
On November 21, Melissa took to Instagram to share a photo of Antonia walking on crutches outside of their home. “My little athlete tore her ACL,” she wrote in the caption. “She/we were so upset yesterday when we found out that she would have to be out of cheer & gymnastics for 6-8 months & needs surgery.”
The mom of three went on to explain that Antonia sustained the injury during a recent practice, writing, “She was practicing her full twist when this happened. Not an easy skill to do!”
Though the teen will have to sit out both sports for the foreseeable future, Melissa says she’s maintaining a positive outlook. “Today her spirits are high and we are on the road to recovery. I’ve always pushed my kids to work hard, step out of their comfort zone and be the best they can be, I will always raise athletes! Wish her luck,” she concluded the message.
Here’s to a speedy recovery!
