Mia and Gordon Thornton Spent Thanksgiving Together Amid Their Split: Details
The estranged RHOP couple shared an inside look at their co-parenting relationship: "Anything for our babies."
Nothing brings families together quite like the holidays.
Nearly two months after announcing her marital split, The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Mia Thornton took to Instagram to share a peek at her family’s Thanksgiving celebration. The November 23 reel included clips of Mia sipping a drink, cooking a holiday meal, and spending time with her two youngest children. The heartwarming post also featured several shots of Mia with her estranged husband, Gordon Thornton.
“B L E S S I N G S,” she captioned the Instagram, which included the “Thanksgiving” and “coparenting” hashtags. “Sending Love, PEACE & Holiday Cheer to you and yours. Love, The Thornton’s.”
Porsha Williams applauds Mia Thornton's Co-Parenting Skills
The post received thousands of likes and dozens of comments, including one from The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Porsha Williams, who is also navigating co-parenting life.
“That’s how you doing,” Porsha commented, to which Mia replied: “Thank you, love. Anything for our babies for sure!”
Mia and Gordon Thornton's Separation
Mia confirmed her and Gordon’s separation in late September after more than 11 years of marriage. Mia and Gordon each have a kid from their previous relationships, and share an 8-year-old son, Jeremiah Carter, as well as a 6-year-old daughter, Juliana.
"Like all marriages, ours has had its ups and downs," the Potomac ’Wife previously told People magazine. "At this time, Gordon and I are separated, but my family is my number one priority, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure we are okay. We ask that you respect our privacy and give us the time and space to figure things out."
Mia Thornton speaks on her dating life
The Thorntons' marital issues will be further explored in the current season of RHOP, which followed the couple as they adapted to a new life amid financial struggles. A day before the Season 8 premiere, Mia opened up about her marriage and expectations for her new chapter.
“I’m having fun,” she said during the BravoCon 2023 “Potomac Takes Vegas” panel. “Gordon and I have been together for almost 15 years, and we’ve been married for 10, right? So, we’re separated. We’re legally separated, and I feel like I just want to have fun, right? I’m outside a little bit.”
Elsewhere in the discussion, Mia was asked how she relaxes after a tense day of shooting and suggested she had returned to the dating game.
“I call the special man in my life, that’s what I would say,” she replied before her castmates pushed for more information. “What I said is, I was in the streets. There’s not a particular one, but I will call someone. That’s what I do.”
