Kenya Moore Welcomes Deshauna Barber to the Miss USA Sisterhood
The #RHOA pageant queen celebrates the newest Miss USA.
A big mazel goes out to Deshauna Barber, who was crowned the 2016 Miss USA on Sunday. The 26-year-old Army Reserve officer and IT analyst for the U.S. Department of Commerce, who hails from the District of Columbia, beat out finalist Miss Georgia Emanii Davis and runner-up Miss Hawaii Chelsea Hardin at the glittering event, according to The Washington Post. And speaking of glittering, did you see the crown she gets to wear for the next 12 months? Consider us just a wee bit jealous of her new accessory.
The historic win marks the first time in 14 years that Miss USA hails from the nation's capital, and only the third time in the pageant's history. And Deshauna's already getting love from a former Miss USA, The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Kenya Moore. "Congrats to the new @missusa you make us proud. #chocolategirlsrock #welcometothesisterhood," she wrote. Kenya, aka Miss Michigan, took home the crown back in 1993.

Next up for this year's winner? Representing the United States in the Miss Universe pageant later this year. But first, Deshauna is moving to New York to kick off her next chapter.
