Nene Leakes Offers an Update on Gregg's Health After His Cancer Returned

Back in late June, Nene Leakes confirmed that husband Gregg Leakes' cancer had returned three years after it was first shared that he was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer, revealing that he had been in the hospital for a week following surgery. She didn't share many more details in her interview with The Jasmine Brand at the time, but she gave fans an update on her husband's condition this week, noting that he has finally been discharged from the hospital after a lengthy stay.

When one fan noted on Twitter that they thought Nene would be appearing on The Talk, she explained her absence was related to the latest update in Gregg's health journey. "I was [supposed] to be hosting The Talk today," she tweeted on Wednesday (July 28), adding, "But I got good news that Gregg was coming home after being hospitalized 6 weeks."

Since confirming his cancer diagnosis in June 2018, Nene and Gregg have been open about his journey. In September 2019, he appeared on The Wendy Williams Show with Nene and confirmed that, at that time, he was cancer free.

When confirming his cancer had returned back in June, Nene noted that Gregg was feeling overwhelmed by the response. "Hey guys....I was really caught off guard in that interview when asked about Gregg! He’s a private person so i hadn’t said anything publicly (his wishes) (Only our circle really know details) and really sometimes it’s best that way because people just read into it whatever they want too and family, whew Chileeeeee i just can’t.  Gregg told me this morning he had 80 text messages and wanted to know what was wrong wit his phone. Thank you for your many prayers[,] text messages and calls," she wrote on Instagram. "PS: Gregg says to me, keep smiling."
