Nicholas Elmi and Justin Devillier Score Beard Nominations
The 'Top Chef' stars are up for one of food industry's most prestigious awards.
Awards season isn't reserved for movies, music and red carpet strutting. It also celebrates the best food in the country, and some of our favorite Top Chef contestants are scoring some serious honors for great grub.
In addition to taking home the title for this season of Top Chef and rave reviews for his new establishment in Philadelphia, Nicholas Elmi has received a nod from the James Beard Foundation. His spot Laurel is a semifinalist for Best New Restaurant of 2014. Given Nick's performance on the show, his mouthwatering dishes and a handful of compliments from one of Philly's most respected food critics, it's easy to see why the accolades are so deserved.
He's not repping the most recent season of Top Chef alone, either: Justin Devillier is also a Beard semifinalist, with a Best Chef: South nod sent his way for the exceptional work at New Orleans' La Petite Grocery. This is the third time Justin has received this particular honor, as he was nominated in 2012 and 2013 as the Best Chef of the South by the James Beard Foundation.
The Beard Awards take place on May 5, and we'll be crossing our fingers for Nick and his Laurel and sending lucky vibes Justin's way!
