John Mayer and Nicki Minaj's Flirty Exchange Reminds Twitter of His Awkward Past Dating Comments
Cue up "Your Body is a Wonderland."
When you reach a certain level of celebrity, you can publicly holler at your famous crushes and will probably hear back (well, unless you're Amanda Bynes tweeting to Drake). Bachelor John Mayer learned that for sure this week after revealing a fondness for Nicki Minaj.
Nicki, who currently stars in Yo Gotti's "Rake It Up" video (and is currently single herself), had time to play and replied in less than a half hour.
That got John very excited. "Please hold, losing my s--t. This isn't my reply yet." he tweeted.
But Buzzfeed noted that not everyone who saw this go down was as happy for John as he seemed to be for receiving Nicki's attention, with some Twitter users bringing up receipts of crude past comments that have been attributed to him and his dating habits, including telling Playboy, "My d*** is sort of like a white supremacist" when asked if black women throw themselves at him.
That could be a rather awkward topic for a first date; Nicki has had no further comment at this time.
