Natalie Portman Is Skipping the Oscars Because She's Incredibly Pregnant

While she's often wowed us on the red carpet of the Academy Awards in the past, fashionphiles will just have to go without seeing the attire Natalie Portman had up her stylish sleeve this year. The actress confirmed that she'll be skipping the show since she's very, very preggers.

"Due to my pregnancy, I am unable to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Academy Awards," Natalie said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. "I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends."

Natalie is up for Best Actress for her role in Jackie for her turn as former first lady, Jackie Kennedy. She previously took home an Oscar back in 2011 for her work in Black Swan. The actress is currently pregnant with her second child with her husband, French choreographer Benjamin Millepied, who she met filming that movie. They have a 5-year-old son, Aleph.
