This Is Why Dennis McKinley Thought He and Porsha Williams Were Having a Boy
The Real Housewives of Atlanta dad might have been the most stunned person at the gender reveal party.
On the Season 11 finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Williams and Dennis McKinley held a gender reveal party. While the party had a few hiccups, ultimately it ended up to be incredible for the parents-to-be, who learned they were expecting a baby girl. (Baby PJ, Pilar Jhena McKinley, was born on March 22.) But according to Porsha, while she remained surprised that day, Dennis may have been even more shocked — because he was convinced they were having a boy.
Apparently, while she had been rooting for a boy (even though "deep down I think I knew it was a girl"), he originally predicted the baby was a girl. "Dennis, from the moment I told him pregnant, said it was a girl. He was like, it is just my luck that I would have a little girl," Porsha said on The Real Housewives of Atlanta After Show.
But his guess changed once they went to a doctor appointment.
"At the very end, we went to a sonogram," Porsha recalled. "And he saw the damn umbilical cord and he thought the umbilical cord was the penis. And I'm like, 'That's a big old penis!' And then Dennis even thought he had secret information because he brought a necklace that had 'DJ' on it, which would be 'Dennis Jr.,' not 'Porsha Jr.' So then I found he had paid somebody and thought he knew that it was a boy... that's why he got the 'DJ.' So Dennis [is] just around here trying to get all kinds of information. I'm like, we're supposed to find out together. Now he done gone so far as to be looking at the sonogram, thinking he's an expert. I'm like, that's too big and too high for a penis."
So Dennis went on the emotional roller coaster of anticipating a girl, then expecting a boy, and then being surprised by a girl once again.
