Porsha Williams was arrested again while peacefully protesting for justice for Breonna Taylor in Louisville, Kentucky on August 25. After her release from police custody, The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member shared a moving video featuring “footage of us in jail,” in which she is singing hymns with the protestors who were also arrested.

“Home now and full of tears listening to this recording that @tamikadmallory captured of us in prison singing the hymns of our ancestors,” Porsha reflected in a post following the video she shared, which you can see, below. “I’m so moved by the presence of and you know he was with us yesterday along with our ancestors! It’s so sad that we are reliving those same tragic times but we shall overcome!”

Porsha continued her post with a heartfelt message about faith and continuing the fight for justice.

“We will walk this faith walk and stand y’all in our purpose as we face the darkness! God will BREAK EVERY CHAIN this system has on his people! I am but a vessel, a messenger here to put them on notice of what’s to come. I am a servant of God’s people. I may be criticized, I may be outcast by some, but I know standing with my people and all people who fight for humanity, that my blessing and protect will be given to me when the time comes,” she wrote. “My heart is heavy knowing that even as we fight for justice for our beloved Breonna Taylor, more Black men, one being Jacob Blake, is still being brutalized in the streets of America!”

Porsha concluded her message with a call to action, urging her followers to advocate, as well.

“I know at this very moment that myself and everyone reading this has been given an assignment! You must search your soul and decide to receive it and activate the activist in you! Get busy, get active, get informed! Whatever your gift is, we NEED you to be a part of change, we need you to believe that love is an action word and show it!!” wrote Porsha. “Find a way to see yourself in the movement and get busy! We are standing at a fork in the road of life or death. Silence and complacency will lead to more death! It’s time to wake up!”

“Change is ahead of us…if we just continue to push through and keep moving forward together, we will get to where we need to be! We all play a part in this movement, no one is greater than another. Hell, is the heart any less important than your lungs? Absolutely not. You need both of them to function,” she continued. “You are what this movement needs to function at its highest level!”

Porsha was first arrested on July 14, while protesting at the home of Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron. She has since honored the legacy of Breonna Taylor at a special event, spoken at Bravo’s roundtable discussion, Race in America: a Movement Not a Moment, and started classes to continue her work for social change.
