Project Runway Season 18 Eliminated Contestant From Episode 10 Speaks Out
This Project Runway designer promises to be "the Jennifer Hudson of this season."
On Episode 10 of Project Runway, we said goodbye to "sewing speed demon" Delvin McCray. The 26-year-old designer was eliminated following a tie-dye challenge, in which the contestants were tasked with creating a runway-approved look incorporating tie-dye. On the Project Runway After Show, Delvin sat down to discuss his elimination with Christian Siriano.
"I'll be the Jennifer Hudson of this season," Delvin promised, referring to the singer who gained major success, including a Grammy, after being eliminated on American Idol. "I feel like I unlocked this vault, creatively, at the last minute. So it's prepared me and now I'm ready for the envelope-pushing. But I have so, so, so, so much to show."
In fact, Delvin doesn't believe he should have been eliminated at all. "If I had more time, I would have done something a little different," Delvin said.
And Christian agreed. "The tie-dye technique that you did, I mean, it was pretty perfect," he said. "I think a lot of the other tie-dye wasn't even as rich that was on the runway, so that was nice to see. I just think you lost steam a little bit."
Delvin also couldn't help but share a little shade, too — see what he had to say (as well as Leslie Jones' hilarious comments) above. And catch Project Runway on Thursdays at 9/8c. Preview, below.
