Ramona Singer is the Mogul of the Year
The NYC lady says "You can have it all," and launches another business.
Ramona Singer's on fire. Hot on the heels of being honored at the Stevie Awards for Women in Business as the 2011 Mogul of the Year (with Sonja Morgan there to cheer her success), she talked with Celebuzz about her upcoming plans, daughter Avery, and, of course, Pinot Grigio.
The Real Housewives of New York City star is basking in the afterglow of her award-winning moment. She gushed, "What was really amazing, for me personally, was to see a room full of 300-plus women who are all in business and involved in business, because it just shows you how far we as women have come and how women can have it all. Most of these women are married with children and have a career. That's what I'm all about -- you can have it all."
When asked if Ramona sees herself as a role model for women, she said, "Being on the show got my creative juices going, and I said, 'Let me show my daughter first-hand how you can start up a business.' And then another business started, and another business started, and I realized that maybe now I'm raising the bar too high for her -- or even for myself!"
The Bravoleb thinks Avery will do just fine though: "She's a mini-me -- but better. She's very driven. She's very competitive with herself. One thing that I think helps me become successful is, I never look behind me. I never look to the left and the right, I just kind of stay focused and forward. That's what Avery is." (And Avery adores her mother too, as RHONY fans will recall.)
So what new ventures does Ramona have in store for us? "There is a designer who I really enjoy. I don't know if I can mention it yet, (Editor's note: um, you just mentioned it) but I'm going to work on doing a capsule line that's designed by me for her, like with my input. These dresses all have lycra in it. . .They move with you and kind of hug your curves and accentuate the positive."
Can't wait to see her work that ready-to-wear. But most importantly, how's everything going with her signature wine? She laughs, "Are you kidding? It's incredible. . .I live and breathe it. I take my Pinot Grigio wherever I go now!"
