Which Real Housewife Was "Devastated" When NeNe and Gregg Leakes Briefly Broke Up?
She has a lot of admiration for the #RHOA couple.
If every time you see NeNe and Gregg Leakes together, it doesn't warm your heart, you may need to check your pulse. The Real Housewives of Atlanta couple is #RelationshipGoals, especially after they worked through their marital issues and remarried in 2013 to come back stronger than ever.
NeNe and Gregg's love story has definitely been an inspiration to one Real Housewife: Monique Samuels. "Oh my goodness, I remember when NeNe and Gregg broke up. I was devastated, because I love them as a couple, like together, and then when they got back together, you could just see that the respect level for each other shifted so much. And Gregg was just worshipping the ground NeNe walks on," The Real Housewives of Potomac mom recently gushed to The Daily Dish. "A lot of times, the woman, we're the ones that's always pushing the man, and then they ended up breaking up, getting divorced, and then when they got back together, it was him, he's her biggest cheerleader, so I really enjoyed that."
Monique, who became a Real Housewives superfan long before she ever got into the world herself, said she also admired how Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker similarly overcame adversity to keep their relationship alive. "She was having issues with her mom leading up to them getting married," Monique said. "And to see them still going strong, they have a baby boy, I really enjoy seeing that. Like, it really makes me smile."
The RHOP mom of two said that she also faced ups and downs in her marriage to Chris Samuels in her first season as a Real Housewife. "Chris is so accustom to me being at his every beck and call, and even my kids. And when I got so busy because of the season, I had no idea how busy I would be, and I got so tired. And it was like they went from mommy being there and wifey being there, doing everything, to, 'Where is she? When is she coming home?'" Monique explained. "So it was new for us. We didn't know what to expect, so along the way, it was a few bumps in the road where he was feeling neglected, and I don't blame him. And I was basically like, you know, you support me and you told me you wanted to support me doing this show. Your support means you'll support me even when I'm absent. So we had a few bumps in the road, but luckily, we were able to get on the same page."
But luckily, Real Housewives relationships like Nene's and Kandi's, as well as Lisa Vanderpump's, Lisa Rinna's, and Kyle Richards', give Monique hope that her marriage can survive the limelight, too. Monique said she is also interested to see what's next for Teresa Giudice as she continues to deal with her husband Joe Giudice's absence as he completes his prison sentence. "I love Teresa. I love her. She is so funny. I love that she's such an entrepreneur," Monique gushed. "And she is just unstoppable, in my opinion."
Well, Teresa definitely has Monique's support. Why, we think Teresa and Monique should really think about becoming besties, what with both of them being New Jersey natives and a similar taste in names for their daughters (Milania and Milani, respectively). "We've had exchanges over Twitter, so I'm definitely a fan, and she's actually given me a lot of love on her Twitter page, so I really appreciate that," Monique said. "It's nice to get that Jersey love, too."
