Rebecca Minkoff Reveals What Her Day Looks Like at Her Multi-Million Dollar Brand: "Organized Chaos"
The Real Housewives of New York City friend opened up exclusively about her career in fashion and what her day looks like at her company.
Rebecca Minkoff does "not have a day-to-day" when it comes to running her multi-million dollar eponymous fashion brand. The Real Housewives of New York City friend is very involved with the business, which she outlined in an interview with BravoTV.com earlier this autumn.
Rebecca explained what her day-to-day looks like while running her business can look like, even though she said that she does not have an average work schedule. "It's either with my design team, shooting content, speaking, traveling to cities to meet my customers," she explained. "You name it, it's always different."
"It is organized chaos," the fashion mogul said. "And I thrive on that, apparently."
However, she admitted that it was a little hard juggling her time on the show with managing the brand. "I would leave shooting and then come and have an eight-hour work day ahead of me, and that was actually the most anxiety-inducing part of this whole experience is you're sitting there and you're like, 'Oh my gosh, deadlines...' It was a lot to manage," she said.
Rebecca Minkoff responds to Brynn Whitfield's comments about her brand
Her brand is a hot topic on Season 15 of RHONY. In the clip below, Brynn Whitfield makes a "shady" comment about Rebecca's company during a preview for Season 15, Episode 7. "Oh! I didn't know Nordstrom Rack gives out awards," Brynn said after learning Rebecca was at an awards ceremony.
Erin Lichy then passed the comment on to Rebecca, who had the perfect reaction to Brynn's "distasteful" comment. "Oh wow, that's a good one," she told Erin. "Listen, she doesn't have to like my stuff. That's fine. I built a $100 million company."
But during her confessional, Rebecca didn't hide her disappointment about Brynn's comments. "I think it's pretty distasteful for her to come for my career, or anything I've done, frankly," she said. "I'm not sure what she's done. It's like a little yap dog trying to bite you. I have been bit by real sharks. So, this is nothing to me."
Inside Rebecca Minkoff's career outside of fashion
But Rebecca isn't just the designer behind a major fashion label. She also helped start the Female Founder Collective, an organization dedicated to "enabling and empowering female-owned and led companies" by providing resources, opportunities, and investing in them.
Rebecca is also the author of Fearless: The New Rules for Unlocking Creativity and Success, published in 2021. Per the publisher, Fearless allows you to: "Take your rightful place in the driver's seat of your own life and career through the focused and fearless strategies."
"Through this book, Rebecca shares her own stories and teaches you how she was able to reach her goals to become the successful fashion designer she is today," the description concludes. "She shows that if you remain hungry, work hard, and face the unspoken rules that have held back for centuries, you can make success happen for yourself."
