Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker Face Some Marital Ups and Downs Amid Career Changes
The couple is as busy as ever — and feeling the pressure — as seen on the RHOA Season 15 premiere.
On the Season 15 premiere of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker were ready to take on new career challenges, while also trying to find the balance in their marriage and with their kids.
Episode 1 of RHOA Season 15 found the pair in the midst of new ventures (Kandi relaunching Kandi Koated Nights, and Todd taking on a film project), but the new career highs left the pair strained, as explained in the May 7 episode.
Kandi Burruss Career Update
Moments into the episode, while meeting with her team at her offices, we learned that Kandi was ready to relaunch her web series, Kandi Koated Nights. “So, Kandi Koated Nights is coming back,” DonJuan Clark confirmed during the meeting. “For it to work, we’re gonna have to make sure we map this out.”

Kandi quickly pointed out that the many projects on her plate meant she was stretched thin, and her son, Ace Tucker, was sensing it. “I was talking to Ace last night, and Ace was like, ‘Mommy, you work so much.’ And I was like that’s crazy for a 6-year-old to say that. I don’t know.”
Todd Tucker Career Update
It’s not just Kandi’s career that’s impacting those around her. In the May 7 episode, we also learned that Todd is pivoting more into the movie space and it’s been taking up a lot of his time. “He’s trying to write his movie, and he feels like I don’t make time to help him, but he’s always making time to help me,” Kandi shared in the episode, adding in a confessional moment, “Right now, Todd, he actually has multiple movies that he has written and he wants me to produce. I’m like I don’t really have time to go produce.”
Kandi also got emotional as she revealed how all their work affects their schedule as a couple. “I’m trying to do so much, and I know he wants his dreams to come true as well,” she explained. “But I don’t know how to make it all work.”
Later, during some family time, it was revealed just how difficult finding a balance was proving to be for Todd. Kandi explained, “Todd and I are very driven people, and lately his movie is taking up a lot of our family time. I know I’m busy, and I tried to show up for the family and do everything that I need to do, so I’m gonna need him to show up the same way. Sometimes I feel like I just can’t win with Todd.”
What’s Next for Kandi’s and Todd’s Careers?
Kandi remains booked and busy. She is actively performing with her group XSCAPE, she has an acting career, she recently appeared on Celebrity Game Face, and, oh yeah, she’s nominated for both an Emmy Award and a Tony Award. NBD.
Todd recently shared an update on the progress he’s made on his movie. In an Instagram post, he shared, “Behind the scenes, ADR work on my movie called The Pass, if I can do it you can too! Make a timeline, set deadlines[,] stay focused and do it! It’s that easy!!! But it’s hard work!”
Kandi and Todd’s Family Time
BTW, we’ll have to tune in this season to find out how Kandi and Todd work through their issues (RHOA airs Sundays at 8/7c), but they, of course, always try to make time for their family, including their two young kids, Ace and Blaze.
