Daily Dish Kandi And The Gang Kandi Todd

Kandi Burruss is sharing some exciting news about her career, and it involves her husband, Todd Tucker. The Kandi & The Gang couple, who have given fans a glimpse into their world at the Old Lady Gang restaurant on the Bravo series, both took to Instagram to reveal yet another reason they will be teaming up to work together. And this time, it's out of the restaurant and on Broadway.

"It is a blessing and an honor for [Todd] and I to join the producing team of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson," Kandi wrote in the caption of her May 3 post, which featured The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member excitedly announcing the news that she and Todd joined the producing team of Broadway's upcoming The Piano Lesson revival, which stars Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, and Danielle Brooks. She went on to add, "It’s a dream come true to work with this amazing all-star team [and] cast as we continue to push to diversify the Broadway audience."

Todd also shared the news on Instagram, writing, in part, "I am BLESSED and so honored to be a part of the producing team for August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson." Married to Medicine's Dr. Heavenly Kimes celebrated the couple's latest achievement, writing in the comments of Todd's post, "Wow!!! You guys are goals!!! Congratulations."

“We couldn’t be more honored and excited to join the producing team of August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson,” said Kandi and Todd in a statement to Deadline, which also reported that the Pulitzer Prize-winning play will begin performances on Monday, September 19, at the St. James Theatre.

This isn't the first time Kandi has been involved as a producer on Broadway, as she announced last year that she had joined the producing team of the groundbreaking play Thoughts of a Colored Man.

Kandi also opened up about the accomplishment at the time, and what it meant to her to work on such a powerful project. "To be a part of the first production starring all Black men, a Black writer, a Black director, a Black lead producing team, it's an amazing feeling because throughout my life, I want to know that I've been able to make a difference and help people be seen," Kandi said in an interview with E! News. "This is our opportunity to mix it up, make people smile and bring people to the theater who haven't always felt that they were represented."
