In March of 2022, Teddi first opened up to her followers about a skin check that didn't go according to plan. Her doctor removed a mole that ended up being melanoma.

In her initial Instagram post, Teddi noted that longtime pal, Kyle Richards, had been the one who noticed that a few spots on her back had changed colors.

"When [Kyle] saw my back and it had changed colors again, she immediately took me to the doc[tor] who within minutes said it looks like melanoma and did a big removal," Teddi wrote.

Now, Teddi is sharing even more about how Kyle (quite literally) had her back on that day. While chatting with Extra, Teddi said that she's long had white spots on her back, which she just thought were birthmarks.

"In March, I was running with Kyle Richards, actually, and she was like, 'Hey, one of your spots is, like, black. You need to go to the dermatologist and get it checked.' We went in, and immediately, they biopsied it, and it came back Melanoma."

While Teddi's initial post was about one mole, in the months that have followed, six spots have been identified that are at "all different levels" of Melanoma — either at Stage 1, or at Stage 2.

Though Teddi planned to get all six of the spots removed shortly after the conclusion of BravoCon 2022 (the event ended on October 16), things changed when she learned that "there [were] so many melanomas in one location."

Teddi later did a PET scan, and found out that she is "predisposed to Melanomas." She did end up getting surgery to get the spots removed in late October. She also had "lymph nodes that lit up," which were also removed.

The mom of three is keeping her Instagram followers updated in the hopes that she can encourage others to get checked out.
