Does Dolores Catania Think Her Truce with Jennifer Aydin Will Last? She Says…
Both castmates weighed in on the reconciliation during The Real Housewives of New Jersey After Show.
Dolores Catania and Jennifer Aydin settled their long-simmering beef on the April 4 episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but as Dolores admitted on the RHONJ After Show, doing so “wasn’t easy.”
“It’s not in my DNA to let somebody talk to me the way that she did and treat me the way that she did,” Dolores explained. “But Jennifer and I have history, Jennifer and I share mutual friends — one being very important to me, my friendship with Teresa Giudice — so I don’t want it to be awkward in friendships. And if I can work things out with Jennifer and move on and not expect a lot of different things, then I would like to do that.”
The tension between the two largely stemmed from the RHONJ Season 12 reunion, during which Jennifer accused Dolores of not supporting her after Margaret Josephs brought up rumors about her marriage to Dr. Bill Aydin. As Jennifer put it while reflecting on the drama during the RHONJ After Show, “Because I know [about] the love that she has for Bill is why I was so disappointed that really she didn’t go to bat for him.”
At the reunion and in the months that followed, Jennifer and Dolores were on such bad terms that they’d often trade insults — and one slight in particular still haunts Jennifer to this day. “I regret calling Dolores a handbag,” she said on the RHONJ After Show. “I f--king hated that. I was angry. It was in the heat of the moment.”
Thankfully, Jennifer added, “I feel like she genuinely forgave me and now she doesn’t give a s--t anymore, which I’m very happy about. But I will say I’m sorry I said that.”
Dolores further discussed her and Jennifer’s reconciliation on the April 4 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and while an audience-based poll revealed that the majority of viewers don’t think the truce will “last,” Dolores is going the positive route. “I hope it does,” she said, “but who knows.”
