Evan Goldschneider on Confronting Bill Aydin: "That Wasn't Anger; That Was Just Calling Bulls--t"
The RHONJ crew reacts to the tension between Jackie Goldschneider and Jennifer Aydin's husbands at guys' night.
Guys' nights are usually pretty drama-free on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but that was certainly not the case in the March 8 episode.
As the men got together for dinner for the first time since all the drama that went down in the Jersey Shore, things were noticeably tense between Dr. Bill Aydin and the rest of the group. When Bill made a comment that his wife, Jennifer Aydin, "never went digging for anyone's 'dirt,'" Evan Goldschneider begged to differ. Bill then got up from the table and walked away as the episode came to a close.
Evan opened up more about what motivated him to speak up in that instance in The Real Housewives of New Jersey After Show exclusive to Bravo Insider members, above. "These guys know I never really try to get involved in anything at all, so it must have triggered me in some way," he explained. "To say that she didn't do something, which obviously was infuriating, it's not really having any sense of reality. And it's, you know, it's insulting to me as well to say that."
However, Bill defended his wife in the RHONJ After Show, sharing that he believed she did not do anything wrong. "My wife did not dig. She's entitled to ask the next question like many people asked the next question. That's a curiosity to many people. It may not be me, it may not be someone else, but people are entitled to ask that next question," he said. "Those are not bad behaviors. That's not a terrible character."
For the typically reserved Evan, this moment was a rarity in all the seasons he has appeared on RHONJ. "I normally don't like to get involved like that. Sometimes it comes out. I have another side that has been suppressed for a long time," he said. "But I try to behave."
After Margaret Josephs' husband, Joe Benigno, commented in the RHONJ After Show that this "was the maddest" he'd ever seen Evan, Jackie's husband clarified, "Anger never got me anywhere. That wasn't anger; that was just calling bulls--t."

Guys' night continued to be a major topic of conversation during the March 8 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, which featured Jackie as a guest and Evan behind the bar (clip below). Andy Cohen polled the audience asking, "Are the guys being too hard on Bill?" "No, I don't think so," Jackie replied, before Evan chimed in, "I don't think I was too hard."

In regards to a poll question asking "which Househusband does the best job of standing up for his wife," Joe Gorga won in a landslide, prompting Andy to ask Jackie, "Do you think Evan is not getting a fair shot at this?" "No, I think that Evan keeps his mouth closed most of the time," Jackie said in response. "But he found his voice tonight, so I'm not mad at that!"
When it came to her own comments about Bill this season of RHONJ, Jackie said that she had no regrets and felt like Dolores Catania was "making a mountain out of a molehill" in calling her out for it, especially considering the fact that no one seemed to have a problem with a certain pineapple-related conversation happening last season. You can hear more about that from Jackie in the below clip.
As you can see, things can get pretty wild in the Garden State, and we imagine that Evan's day-to-day in his work in finance has a little bit of a different energy to it. So, during the WWHL After Show, Andy asked Evan what his colleagues think about RHONJ. Turns out, the subject doesn't really come up. "They don't really say that much. I think they're scared to say anything," Evan said (clip below). "They don't want to bring it up. They're scared."

Well, there you have it.
