Teresa Giudice’s Husband Luis “Louie” Ruelas Calls Joe Gorga “a Good Human”
On an episode of his wife’s podcast, Louie shared how his first talk with Joe Gorga really went down.
While meeting a significant other’s family for the first time can be intimidating, Luis “Louie” Ruelas had “no complaints at all” when he initially got to know Teresa Giudice’s brother, Joe Gorga.
The newest husband on The Real Housewives of New Jersey had the honor of being the first guest on Teresa and Melissa Pfeister’s podcast, Namaste B$tches, and he opened up about why he got “vulnerable” when he sat down with Joe. He also shared whether he was a fan of RHONJ before he met his bride.
“I’ve never seen Housewives consistently. If anything, bits and pieces here and there,” Louie said on the November 30 episode of the podcast. As a result, he said he didn’t exactly recognize Teresa when he met her on Bay Boulevard in New Jersey in the summer of 2020. After their fated first encounter, his youngest son, Louie Jr., told him that he had just met Teresa Giudice. He then Googled her to find out more.
Once Teresa and Louie became an item — they went on a lot of walks together during the pandemic — the Standing Strong author asked him to catch up on RHONJ.
“I told him to watch the show when we started dating… because I wanted him to see what happened to me these past 10 years,” Teresa said, emphasizing that she wanted him to know what went on between her and her brother.
Though Joe and Teresa aren’t on the best of terms at the moment, the RHONJ OG’s husband only had positive things to say about his early relationship with his brother-in-law.
“If anybody explains you in the best way possible, it came from your brother, honestly,” Louie told Teresa about how Joe spoke highly of her when they first talked. “Many times I’ve seen Joe, I’ve gone to him and said, ‘Listen, Joe, I want to thank you, because everything you said about your sister is absolutely true.’”
Louie shared why it felt “very humbling and settling” when he got to know Teresa’s brother.
“The first moment I met Joe, I would even say both of us became very vulnerable within the first 10 minutes of the conversation. We talked about my work as a man through working through s--t and all that stuff,” the dad of two said. “You just open up… Joe is the kind of guy you can do that to, or with.”
Louie said he had this conversation with Joe at his beach house and “it was beautiful.”
“There [are] no complaints at all…” Louie added. “At the core, your brother is really a good human being. Teresa and her brother were raised by really simple, genuine, loving people.”
