From *Those* Texts to the Wedding, Here’s Where Teresa and Melissa Stand Amid Season 13 Ups and Downs
In a first look at the February 21 episode of RHONJ, get an update on the sisters-in-law’s recent drama.
Season 13 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey has certainly been filled with family tensions for Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga. The emotional dynamic has affected Teresa’s relationship with her sister-in-law as well as with her brother, Joe Gorga. We learned earlier in the season, during the February 7 premiere, that Teresa was hurt after Melissa read her texts to the group.
The Melissa and Teresa Texting Drama
In a conversation with Margaret Josephs, Teresa shared that she sent Melissa the texts to see if “she had my back. These were all tests. Show me love.” (You can hear more on that in the video at the top of the post.) As it turns out, those texts weren’t the only ones the ladies were in their feelings about. There were other texts on the lips of the ladies as Melissa recalled messages she sent to Teresa about feeling “fine” about not being in her wedding party (which she explains in the clip below).
We’ve heard from both Teresa and Melissa this season as they’ve each shared their perspectives on the matter.
A Preview of the Drama from Episode 3 of RHONJ
Now, in a first look at the upcoming February 21 episode of RHONJ, Teresa and Melissa come face-to-face and attempt to move forward as Teresa shares that it felt like Melissa wasn’t “rooting” for her and Luis “Louie” Ruelas.
“I want to see your happy ending,” Melissa tells Teresa. Find out what happens next in their conversation — and how Melissa reacts to Teresa asking her to be a bridesmaid in her 2022 wedding — below.
More on the Giudice-Gorga Family Tensions
As fans will recall, not only was Melissa not in the wedding party, but she and Joe (and their three kids) skipped the August 2022 event. Fans will have to stay tuned to find out why as Season 13 plays out. “I’m sure I will watch,” Melissa told E! News. “I don’t know if Joe can watch, it is hurtful to him if I’m being honest. It’s so sad that he’s her only living relative and somehow he’s not there. It was just awful the way it went down.”
Regardless of the wedding drama, in recent interviews, both Teresa and Melissa have confirmed that they haven’t spoken recently. “I’m happy for them. I wish them well and I wish they wished me the same back,” Teresa told Us Weekly. “I’m focusing on my family, my daughters, on my stepsons, on my husband. So that’s what I’m working on. And putting myself first, because for a long time, I haven’t put myself first. So now this is my time.”
Fans will also score an invite to the wedding themselves when it airs later this season on RHONJ. Check out the sneak peek footage of the nuptials, below.
