Ashley Darby’s Family Has Some Questions About Her Separation

The RHOP cast member makes a surprising confession that leaves her family members concerned.

By Allison Crist

The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Ashley Darby may have announced her separation from her husband, Michael Darby, in April, but her family members aren’t so sure the divorce is on the right track.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Potomac on Bravo on Sundays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app

In this sneak peek clip of Sunday’s supersize Season 7 premiere, Ashley is discussing the separation with her Uncle Lump and her mom, Sheila. “Initially, the prenup said that I wouldn’t get alimony, that I would just get a lump sum,” Ashley explains, “but my prenup is now not valid anymore if we’re married for five years.”

She and Michael were married for nearly eight years. As such, Ashley claims that “theoretically, I would get half” of his “assets.”

Don’t expect to hear what exactly that entails though. When asked by a producer if she knows how much “half” is, Ashley responds, “I will never say how much money” her estranged spouse has, adding, “I will say that I think he does well.”

Continuing to quiz her, the RHOP producer asks a follow-up question: “How much money would you need in order to live comfortably?”

“I can’t even begin to think about how much money I need,” Ashley replies, “because I don’t really pay for anything.”

The confessions keep coming at the dinner table with Sheila and Uncle Lump, who aren’t exactly pleased to hear that Ashley has yet to hire a lawyer. “Why not?” Uncle Lump asks, prompting Ashley to explain that she and her former spouse have “talked about sitting down and having a proposal.”

And that’s not the only plan they have together. When Ashley is asked if Michael’s name will be on the house she’s gearing up to purchase, she responds, “Not on the house, but we are creating an LLC and the house is gonna be in the name of the LLC.”

“An LLC with a house in his name — man, what kind of life are you living?” Uncle Lump asks. “Are you getting a divorce or creating another business?”

Hear Ashley’s answer by watching the full sneak peek above.

RHOP Season 7 premieres on Bravo Sunday, October 9, at 8/7c with a 75-minute supersize episode.
