Nneka Ihim and Candiace Dillard Bassett Bond During a Sweet Fertility Conversation
The Real Housewives of Potomac's Nneka Ihim is hoping to see double while trying to grow her family.
There’s nothing like a little twin ambition to stoke the friendship fire.
That’s what The Real Housewives of Potomac newbie Nneka Ihim and Candiace Dillard Bassett discovered when they bonded during a conversation about fertility on RHOP.
It turns out, both women would love to some day be a mom to twins and both are hoping for a boy and a girl.
What did Nneka Ihim say about having children?
Nneka joined the RHOP cast earlier this season after moving to Potomac with her husband, Dr. Ikenna Ihim.
The seasoned attorney got one of her first opportunities for some lengthy bonding with the Housewives during a cast trip to Austin, Texas, where she opened up about her challenging journey to parenthood.
“I am so grateful, you guys called me at like the perfect time, because I was really feeling down,” she admitted at dinner the first night of the trip.
“I’ve been trying to conceive for the past several months,” she continued. “And we haven’t been successful, so I’m just hoping that being stress-free gets these babies poppin.'”
Candiace — who has been open in the past about her own IVF journey — was quick to join the conversation, asking Nneka how many children she’d like to have.

“I would love twins, a boy and a girl, and call it a day,” Nneka replied.
Nneka wasn’t the only one hoping for double the fun.
“I want to do that,” Candiace added. “I want to get pregnant, a boy and a girl.”
The ladies agreed they’d be “done” after just one pregnancy, if it led to an adorable set of twins.
When did Nneka Ihim join RHOP?
The first-generation Nigerian-American joined RHOP in Season 8.
Nneka has been eager to add to her family after purchasing a fabulous new home in Potomac. The Wisconsin native moved to the East Coast after spending a decade practicing law in Los Angeles. Her move is what led to her joining RHOP.
When she isn’t hanging with the Housewives, she serves as in-house employment counsel for a global financial technology company and runs her alcoholic beverage company, Bido.
Candiace Dillard Bassett shares IVF journey
She isn’t the only Housewife to have mastered multi-tasking. Candiace has been busy ramping up her singing career after releasing her album Deep Space in 2021 and heading off on a whirlwind tour.
But even a busy schedule hasn’t kept her from her chef hubby, Chris. Candiace even enjoyed a romantic picnic with her partner in the first episode of Season 8.
“It’s good that you’re home. I feel like I haven’t spent any time with you in the past six months,” Chris told his wife as they dined al fresco and sipped on champagne.
While Candiace didn’t share any new details about her own family plans while the ‘Wives took in Austin, she’s been open in the past about her journey with IVF. At the RHOP Season 7 Reunion, Candiace shared that having children was “definitely a priority” for the couple.
Candiace has already had a successful egg retrieval as part of the IVF process, and as she once shared with BravoTV.com, it resulted in six embryos. The couple is now just trying to find the right timing to “pop out a baby or two.”
She also opened up about her hopes for growing her family during a fan Q&A with Bravo, saying she’d “love a boy and a girl” to “complete” their family.
Candiace is already a stepmom to Chris’ three children from a previous relationship.
